Ingredients
- 1/4 cup plain cornmeal
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 t teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 pinch garlic powder
- 1 pinch italian herb seasoning
- 1 pinch smoked paprika
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 medium green tomatoes, sliced 1/4" to 1/3" thick
How To Make fried green maters

Step 1Place all dry ingredients in plastic food bag; shake well.

Step 2Heat oil in large frying pan over medium-high heat.

Step 3Place tomato slices in bag with dry ingredients and shake to coat.

Step 4When oil is hot, carefully place coated tomato slices in pan; fry 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown; flip and cook until golden on second side (about 2 minutes.)

Step 5Remove from oil and place on paper towel to drain.

Step 6Serve hot. Cover and refrigerate leftovers.
