Deep Fried Green Beans
When we go we order this appetizer. Since I loved them so much I've always been on the lookout for a recipe for them. I found this little recipe a few months back and had to make it my own. It originally called for hot sauce, but I leave it out.
1/2 cdijon mustard
1 1/2 tsplight soy sauce
·pinch of dry mustard
4 ccanola oil, for frying
2 largeegg whites
1 1/2 call-purpose flour
1 1/4 cclub soda
1 lbgreen beans, ends trimmed
·salt, to taste
How to Make Deep Fried Green Beans
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, whisk first 4 ingredients until warmed. Transfer sauce to a small bowl; let cool.
- In a medium Dutch oven fitted with a thermometer over medium-high heat, heat oil to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, whisk egg whites to soft peaks. Whisk in flour and club soda.
- Working in batches, dip beans in batter, then lower into oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels; sprinkle with salt. Serve with dipping sauce.
