How to Make Dandy Candied Carrots - Grams

Step-by-Step

  1. Place the carrots in a large sauce pan; covered with water and a sprinkling of kosher salt.

Bring to a boil over med - high heat. Cook until fork tender. Drain
  2. Add the carrots back to the pan; add butter, salt, brown sugar, pepper, vanilla, simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Make a slurry out of corn starch and water if you desire a thicker glaze. I always thicken the sauce some. It adheres to the carrots much better. Doesn't effect the taste at all.
  3. Pour into a serving dish, and serve hot.
