"chickens on the greens" a cool summer salad

This my idea of a cool green chicken summer salad. Salad greens in a package. Cooked chicken in a can! What could be easier ? You add only what you want to the salad. Go ahead make it for your taste. Perhaps a shredded carrot, radishes,cranberries, walnuts, green onions also a hard boiled egg chopped or quartered. ***Note: I positively love the main picture of the white chickens. It reminds me of my "Red Hat" ladies! And a happy and fluffy gathering with our RED HATS on!...LOL Hugs, Nancy 7/28 14

Ingredients

  • 1 package mixed darker greens, as desired, for color.
  • 1 cup sliced cucumber
  • 1 cup garlic croutons..
  • 1 cup black olives, halved.
  • 1 large tomato, diced or quarted.
  • 1 bottle italian dressing,....to splash on.
  • 1 to 2 cans drained, cooked white meat chicken.

How To Make "chickens on the greens" a cool summer salad

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl,lightly toss the cleaned greens, with the black olives,the garlic croutons and the cut up tomato. Also any thing else you have a taste for. Mix and cover and put in refrigerator till serving time.
  • Step 2
    When ready to serve, sprinkle your dressing on. Now add the drained, chunk white chicken meat on top, of the salad,and serve! Maybe feta cheese chunks for a topping!!!
  • Step 3
    There you have my version of ... "CHICKENS ON THE GREENS" Your guests and family will love you and this wonderful salad.
