I love cabbage, it's cheep, it's good and it's versatile. Plus it feeds a lot of people. Cabbage is one of my go-to items because I always have some. Besides it goes with any meat dish that I'm cooking

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds bacon, diced
  • 2 medium bell peppers, diced (any color)
  • 2 medium onions, diced
  • 10 to12 large mushrooms, diced
  • 4 stalks celery, diced
  • 4 medium carrots, diced
  • 2 medium heads of green cabbage, sliced

How To Make carrie's fried cabbage

  • Step 1
    In a large Dutch oven, fry bacon until crisp over medium heat. Remove bacon with slotted spoon. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    Add all the rest of the ingredients except cabbage. Sauté in bacon grease.
  • Step 3
    When soft, add cabbage and bacon and continue cooking until cabbage is tender.
