Ingredients
- 8 medium leeks
- 1/2 cup butter plus more for serving
- - salt and pepper
How To Make buttered leeks

Step 1Thoroughly wash leeks. Trim to leave approximately as much green as there is white. Cut diagonally into 1-inch pieces.

Step 2Place leeks and butter into a large saucepan. Add 1/2 cup water, cover, and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 5 to 8 minutes or until leeks are tender but not mushy.

Step 3Drain and season to taste with salt and pepper. Melt a pat or two of additional butter over hot leeks, if desired.
