bacon cabbage and cheese
Made this recipe up about 40 years ago when we were camping with some friends I still make it on the grill or on the stove top. This is one of the few ways I got my children to eat a veggies besides corn. I have given this recipe out to alot of friends over the years.

Ingredients
- slice 6 slices bacon
- medium head of cabbage
- medium onion
- tablespoon 2 tablespoons butter
- slice 4 slices american cheese
How To Make bacon cabbage and cheese

Step 1Cut bacon into cubes place in large saute pan. Pan must have a tight fitting lid.

Step 2Core cabbage and cut like making slaw.Put on top of bacon.

Step 3Dice onion, put on top of cabbage.

Step 4Put butter on top of onion.Place lid on top and cook over medium heat till cabbage is wilted. This does not need stired it just needs to steam till done.When done remove from heat and add cheese replace lid and let cheese melt. Remove lid stir and serve.
