Ingredients
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- - butter, softened
- - salt & pepper
- - bread crumbs
- - colby cheese
- - milk
How To Make my mom's baked macaroni and cheese

Step 1Cook macaroni in salt water, then wash in cold water. Meanwhile, slice a block of colby cheese (I buy the larger block but it depends on how cheesy you want it).

Step 2In an oval casserole dish, layer macaroni, a pad of butter, salt and pepper, bread crumbs, and cheese until all ingredients have been added. Pour milk over the top just until you can see it.

Step 3Bake at 375 for 1 1/2 hours.

Step 4The top will get crusty. If you prefer it stay soft, cover it with aluminum foil the last 30 minutes.
