sesame forbidden rice

I love this! I had to hunt to find it again so I'm posting my version here for safekeeping.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cups forbidden (black) rice
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

How To Make sesame forbidden rice

  • Step 1
    Bring water & salt to a boil. Add rice & stir.
  • Step 2
    Cover pan & cook on low for about 30 minutes until water is almost completely absorbed.
  • Step 3
    Let sit off heat about 10 minutes. Drizzle with sesame oil & stir to combine.
  • Step 4
    Season with additional salt if necessary & garnish with sesame seeds.
