This rice recipe I got from an old cookbook of mine. It is delicious. We had it with salmon tonight.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp
    oil (i used canola)
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    minced yellow onion
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 3 c
    chicken broth
  • 3 c
    uncooked instant rice
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    accent
  • 1 tsp
    paprika
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh, chopped parsley or 1 tbsp. dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp
    savory

How to Make Savory Rice

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine oil and butter in a small skillet. Heat until butter melts and add onions and garlic. Saute until onions and garlic are golden.
  2. In a saucepan, bring your chicken broth to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in salt, accent, paprika, parsley and savory. Add onion and garlic in oil. Stir in rice and cover with a tight fitting lid.
  3. Let pan sit for about 15 minutes then fluff with a fork and serve.
