savory rice
This rice recipe I got from an old cookbook of mine. It is delicious. We had it with salmon tonight.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon oil (i used canola)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons minced yellow onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 3 cups uncooked instant rice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon accent
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons fresh, chopped parsley or 1 tbsp. dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon savory
How To Make savory rice

Step 1Combine oil and butter in a small skillet. Heat until butter melts and add onions and garlic. Saute until onions and garlic are golden.

Step 2In a saucepan, bring your chicken broth to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in salt, accent, paprika, parsley and savory. Add onion and garlic in oil. Stir in rice and cover with a tight fitting lid.

Step 3Let pan sit for about 15 minutes then fluff with a fork and serve.
