savory rice

This rice recipe I got from an old cookbook of mine. It is delicious. We had it with salmon tonight.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil (i used canola)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced yellow onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 3 cups uncooked instant rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon accent
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fresh, chopped parsley or 1 tbsp. dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon savory

How To Make savory rice

  • Step 1
    Combine oil and butter in a small skillet. Heat until butter melts and add onions and garlic. Saute until onions and garlic are golden.
  • Step 2
    In a saucepan, bring your chicken broth to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in salt, accent, paprika, parsley and savory. Add onion and garlic in oil. Stir in rice and cover with a tight fitting lid.
  • Step 3
    Let pan sit for about 15 minutes then fluff with a fork and serve.
