~ savory basmati saffron rice ~ cassies

One of my favorite rices. I made a spiced shrimp, that I ladled over top. So, so good! This rice could be served as a side with any meat. Yum!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • handful - mixed vegetables, frozen
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoons chicken buillon
  • 1 tablespoon dried, minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • couple pinch saffron - crumbled

How To Make ~ savory basmati saffron rice ~ cassies

  • Step 1
    Rinse the Basmati rice and drain. In a medium saucepan, add all ingredients and stir. Bring to a boil then turn heat to simmer. Place a lid over pan and simmer for 15 minutes. If liquid is not absorbed, simmer a bit longer.
  • Step 2
    Fluff with fork and serve immediately. Delicious!
