My family adores this rice recipe. We usually eat it with chicken but it is also good with pork. My favorite part of this recipe is that (after browning the pasta) I dump everything in the rice cooker and let it do all the work!

  • 1 c
    basmatti rice
  • 3/4 c
    vermicelli pasta, broken into small pieces
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    original mrs. dash with no salt
  • 2 c
    chicken broth
  • 1/4 c

How to Make Rice Pilaf


  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Add the vermicelli and cook on low heat until the pasta begins to take on a brownish color, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add the vermicelli to a rice cooker. Add the rice, pepper, Mrs. Dash, and chicken broth.
  3. Cook in the rice cooker until rice is done. Fluff the rice and serve hot.
