I love Rice Pilaf as a side dish. It's so flavorful and easy to make. My family loves it and it is requested often.

Ingredients

basmati or long grain rice
3 1/2 c
chicken broth
1/2
of a small onion, finely diced
2 Tbsp
celery, diced small
2/3 c
red bell pepper, diced small
finely chopped carrots to taste
1/2 tsp
garlic powder, or to taste
1
bay leaf
4 Tbsp
butter
1/2 tsp
salt, or to taste

How to Make Rice Pilaf

Step-by-Step

  • 1Wash rice well and drain. In a large saucepan, heat chicken broth and butter to boiling and add vegetables and spices. Cook until tender.
  • 2Add rice and cook on low for 20 minutes or until rice is fluffy and tender. Add more butter if desired.
