Excellent kugel which can be prepared ahead and reheated.
A change from plain rice.
My grandmother always made this dish on holidays.

Ingredients

2 c
cooked rice (1 cup raw)
4
eggs
3/4 c
sugar
1/2 c
butter
1 tsp
vanilla
4 c
milk
1/2 c
raisins
1
apple (optional)

How to Make Rice Kugel

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cook rice for 20 minutes. Strain.
    Beat in eggs.
    Add sugar, vanilla, milk and raisins.
  • 2Grease 9 X 13 inch baking dish with 4 tbsp. butter.
    Pour mixture into baking dish.
    Dot mixture with 4 tbsp. butter.
    Slice apple thinly and place on top of mixture (optional)
  • 3Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
