Ingredients
- - cooking spray
- 1/4 cup shallots, minced
- 1/4 cup carrot, diced
- 3/4 cup long-grain rice
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup frozen green peas, thawed
- 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
How To Make rice and green peas

Step 1Heat a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray. Add shallots to pan; sauté for 1 minute or until tender.

Step 2Add carrot; sauté 1 minute.

Step 3Stir in rice; sauté 2 minutes. Add 1 1/2 cups hot water, thyme, and salt; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 23 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

Step 4Remove from heat; stir in peas and butter. Let stand for 5 minutes or until peas are thoroughly heated and butter melts.
