The secret is the potatoes are already baked. These just taste better than any other hash brown I have tasted.

prep time 5 Min
cook time 10 Min
method Pan Fry

Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes, baked
  • 1-2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil, extra virgin
  • - salt

How To Make simple hashbrowns

  • Step 1
Cool potatoes in refrigerator. When ready to use peel the potatoes. Grate the potatoes is a larger grater. Food processor works great, but use large grater. Form four patties or clumps.
  • Step 2
Melt butter and add olive oil. Olive oil prevents the butter from burning. When pan is hot add the potatoes. Reduce heat to medium to prevent burning and cooking too fast. When hash browns are nice and brown on one side flip them and brown the other side. Salt lightly for flavor.
  • Step 3
Another way to make these is use a 8-10 inch fry pan. Depending how thick you prefer your hash browns. Melt butter, add olive oil. Add the potatoes. Cook over medium heat. When brown place a plate over the pan and flip potatoes on to plate. Slide into pan and brown other side. Salt lightly for flavor.
  • Step 4
When done serve with eggs or your favorite sandwich. I love these at breakfast.
