A traditional family Thanksgiving recipe ... Different from other stuffing recipes since it uses both potato and bread cubes.

  • 3 c
    cooked, cubed potatoes
  • 1 pkg
    turkey or chicken stove-top stuffing, prepared according to package directions
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c
    celery, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1/2 c
  • 5 c
    soft bread cubes
  • 1 14.5 oz. can(s)
    chicken or turkey broth
  • 1 tsp
    dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    poultry seasoning
  • dash
    celery salt
  • ·
    salt and pepper, to taste

How to Make Potato Filling


  1. Cube and cook potatoes.
  2. Make Stove-Top Stuffing, according to package directions. (ingredients are not listed above)
  3. Place onion, celery, margarine and 1/2 cup water in microwave dish, with lid. Cover and cook until celery is just soft, about 10 to 12 minutes. (Can also sauté on stovetop.)
  4. Stir together prepared stuffing, potatoes, and celery/onion mixture. Stir in the rest of the ingredients.
  5. Turn into a sprayed 2-qt. casserole dish. Cover and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Remove cover during last 15 minutes of baking.
  6. Can be made a day in advance and refrigerated. Bake for 1 1/2 hours if cold.
