Ingredients
- 6 medium red potatoes, washed and cut in half
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder with parsley
- - salt to taste if needed
- 3/4 teaspoon ground pepper, or more to taste
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 stalks green onion, small dice
- FOR THE BOILING POT
- 2 quarts water
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
How To Make garlic mashed potatoes

Step 1Scrub, wash, and cut in half the potatoes. (Leave the skins on.) In a large boiling pot, bring 2 qts. water, 1 teas. olive oil, and 1 teas. salt to a boil.

Step 2Add potatoes and boil until you can easily puncture with a fork. (12 to 15 minutes) Drain into a colander.

Step 3Add the butter into a large serving bowl. Pour the potatoes on top of the butter and allow it to melt about 2 minutes. Mash the potatoes down with a fork.

Step 4Add garlic powder, salt, ground pepper, and milk. Blend with a mixer until potatoes are smooth and creamy. Add the green onions and mix with a spoon until blended well.

Step 5If potatoes are too thick, add more milk a TBLS. at a time. Add more salt and ground pepper to taste if desired.
