Blue Ribbon Recipe

Thanks to the oven temperature and being coated in olive oil, these oven-baked french fries are crispy and delicious. The seasoning has a slight garlic flavor and keeps these fries from being boring. Perfect as a snack or alongside your favorite burger. They really are fantastic!

How To Make fantastic french fries

Test Kitchen Tips
Make sure to cut your potatoes in a consistent size. Some of ours were a little bigger, so we let the fries cook an extra five minutes.
  • Greased baking sheet on an oven while it preheats.
    1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet.
  • Sliced potatoes in a colander.
    2
Place sliced potatoes in a colander; sprinkle sugar over potatoes. Set aside until liquid is released from potatoes, 20 to 30 minutes. Drain liquid and dry potatoes well.
  • Coating potato slices in olive oil, garlic powder, and salt.
    3
Mix potato slices, olive oil, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated.
  • Potato slices on the greased baking sheet.
    4
Spread potato slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • French fries baking in the oven.
    5
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Flip fries and cook about 20 more minutes or until crispy and golden.
