best scalloped potatoes
I wanted to make scalloped potatoes for dinner, but I wanted a ONE pan kind of thing, so this is what happened from my laziness! This turned out so awesome, and the leftovers were great too (even though there wasn't much left!)! This is full of flavor and will warm and fill your belly nicely!

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 3-4 pounds potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash cayenne pepper
- 3 cups cheddar cheese
- - paprika to taste
- - salt and pepper to taste
How To Make best scalloped potatoes

Step 1Brown beef and drain. Set aside.

Step 2Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 3Melt butter in a sauce pan, and blend in flour. Let it sit a minute to thicken.

Step 4Add cold milk, salt and cayenne to the butter and flour mixture. Bring to a boil and stir until smooth.

Step 5Reduce heat and stir in 1/2 of the cheese.

Step 6In a 9x13 baking dish, layer half the potatoes, half the beef, and half the cheese mixture, then repeat. Add the remaining shredded cheese on top. Sprinkle the paprika on top over the cheese.

Step 7Bake for 1 hour or until potatoes are done.
