bacon, ham and sharp cheddar au gratin potatoes
I love cheese and potato dishes but this is one have for special occasions. Enjoy!

Ingredients
- 9 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 4 slices thick bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup butter or margerine
- 4 ounces velveeta, diced
- 16 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 cans evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon water to make 4 cups liquid with milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic, salt and pepper mix, or to taste
- 1 small onion, chopped

Step 1Cook bacon until crisp, chop and set aside

Step 2Saute onions in bacon fat until soft, drain excess fat from skillet. Add butter and flour, cook until it forms a paste. Slowly add milk and water mixture, cook on med until sauce thickens, add Velveeta and stir off heat until melted.

Step 3Spray 9 by 13 dish with cooking spray. Add small amount sauce to bottom of pan. Add layer of potatoes, 1/3 of ham, 1/3 of bacon and cover with 1/4 of sauce and 1/4 of grated cheddar. Repeat layers 2 more times, ending with cheese sauce, cheddar cheese and bacon. Bake at 400 for app 1 hour.
