Better Than The Blue Box Mac & Cheese
1/2 lb.elbow macaroni
4 slicessmoked bacon
1 cupevaporated milk
3/4 tsp.ground dry mustard
1/2 tsp.tobasco sauce
10 oz.block, sharp cheddar cheese, grated
·ground black pepper, to taste
How to Make Better Than The Blue Box Mac & Cheese
- Cook, drain and crumble 4 slices bacon; set aside.
Cook pasta per pkg. instructions.
Meanwhile, whisk all ingredients except the bacon & cheese until blended.
When pasta finishes cooking, strain and quickly return to the pan. Immediately, pour egg mixture over pasta and stir to combine and begin to cook the egg – add bacon & cheese and continue to stir over low heat until cheese is melted and the macaroni has a smooth, creamy, cheesy sauce.
Add ground pepper to taste.
Serves 4 – 6
OPTION: Place in oven proof serving dish and slide under the broiler for a minute to lightly brown the top.
