This delicious macaroni and cheese recipe was given to me by a long-time co-worker. It is baked and uses Cheddar Cheese instead of Velveeta or American cheese.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups macaroni
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 4 teaspoons grated onion or onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 cups grated cheddar cheese

How To Make baked macaroni and cheddar cheese - steph

  • Step 1
    Cook macaroni and drain. Grease a 9 x 13" baking dish or casserole dish and add macaroni. Mix the butter, flour, grated onion, salt and dash of pepper together.
  • Step 2
    Add four cups of milk and stir well. Add three cups of the cheddar cheese and stir until cheese melts. Pour this mixture over the macaroni.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle the remaining one cup of cheddar cheese over top. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes (covered); 20 - 25 minutes (uncovered).
  • Step 4
    Even better after the second or third day. ENJOY!!!
