This is the creamiest and best kugel. It feeds a large crowd. It reheats well.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (16 oz.) fine noodles, cooked and drained
  • 10-12 - eggs, separated
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 pound small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup golden raisins (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted (optional)
  • 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

How To Make the ultimate kugel

  • Step 1
    Beat egg yolks and beat in remaining ingredients, except egg whites and raisins.
  • Step 2
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and noodles. Add raisins. Mix until well blended.
  • Step 3
    Pour into a greased 4 quart casserole dish.
  • Step 4
    Mix topping ingredients (melted butter, graham cracker crumbs and cinnamon) until crumbly. (optional)
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle topping over noodle mixture. (optional)
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, 10 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out dry.
