This was a very nice alternative to traditional stuffing. We tried this for Thanksgiving.

  • 5 c
    seasoned stuffing cubes
  • 1 lb
  • 1
    large onion chopped
  • 1
    large apple peeled and choppedd
  • 1
    rib of celery chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1 c
  • 1/2 Tbsp
  • 1 1/4 c
    chicken broth
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Sausage Apple Stuffing


  1. preheat oven to 325
  2. put stuffing in a large bowl and set aside. cook sausage in a large skillet until sausage is no longer pink. drain excess oil.
  3. cook diced apple and onion in butter until softened. Mix apple mixture and sausage in with the stuffing.
  4. stir in broth, nuts, salt, pepper and sage. toss to coat.
  5. transfer to greased 3 quart baking dish.
  6. cover and bake at 325 for 30 minutes. uncover and bake 10 minutes longer or until lightly browned.
