sausage apple stuffing
This was a very nice alternative to traditional stuffing. We tried this for Thanksgiving.

Ingredients
- 5 cups seasoned stuffing cubes
- 1 pound sausage
- 1 - large onion chopped
- 1 - large apple peeled and choppedd
- 1 - rib of celery chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup pecans
- 1/2 tablespoon sage
- 1 1/4 cups chicken broth
- - salt and pepper to taste
How To Make sausage apple stuffing

Step 1preheat oven to 325

Step 2put stuffing in a large bowl and set aside. cook sausage in a large skillet until sausage is no longer pink. drain excess oil.

Step 3cook diced apple and onion in butter until softened. Mix apple mixture and sausage in with the stuffing.

Step 4stir in broth, nuts, salt, pepper and sage. toss to coat.

Step 5transfer to greased 3 quart baking dish.

Step 6cover and bake at 325 for 30 minutes. uncover and bake 10 minutes longer or until lightly browned.
