This was a very nice alternative to traditional stuffing. We tried this for Thanksgiving.

Ingredients

5 c
seasoned stuffing cubes
1 lb
sausage
1
large onion chopped
1
large apple peeled and choppedd
1
rib of celery chopped
2 Tbsp
butter
1 c
pecans
1/2 Tbsp
sage
1 1/4 c
chicken broth
salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Sausage Apple Stuffing

Step-by-Step

  • 1preheat oven to 325
  • 2put stuffing in a large bowl and set aside. cook sausage in a large skillet until sausage is no longer pink. drain excess oil.
  • 3cook diced apple and onion in butter until softened. Mix apple mixture and sausage in with the stuffing.
  • 4stir in broth, nuts, salt, pepper and sage. toss to coat.
  • 5transfer to greased 3 quart baking dish.
  • 6cover and bake at 325 for 30 minutes. uncover and bake 10 minutes longer or until lightly browned.
