Tomato gardeners always have a load of little greenies at the end of the season. This is my favorite use for green tomatoes. It's addictive!

  • 2 qt
    chopped green tomato
  • 3/4 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 tsp
  • 1
    chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1/4 c
    whole mustard seed
  • 1 qt
    cider vinegar
  • 2
    red or green peppers, sliced

How to Make Green Tomato Relish


  1. Mix tomatoes and salt; Cover, let stand 24 hours; drain.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, bring to boil, cook 15 minutes.
  3. Pack in hot sterilized jars; seal.
