creamed cucumbers

A delicious cucumber salad or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 6 - medium-sized cucumbers, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 3 - green onions, sliced thin
  • 1 cup - mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup - evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup - 5% white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup - sugar
  • 4 drops - hot pepper sauce
  • 1 tsp. - dried parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. - salt
  • 1/4 tsp. - pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. - garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. - onion salt

How To Make creamed cucumbers

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, add the cucumbers and green onions. (I only added half of the green onion tops, and discarded the rest.)
  • Step 2
    Cover the bowl, and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour.
  • Step 3
    Combine remaining ingredients, and pour over the cucumber mixture; mix well.
  • Step 4
    Refrigerate for several hours before serving.
