This is a recipe that was my mom's. I adjusted it and made it my own. You can add whatever spice you like and it doesn't seem to hurt the taste. Sometimes I put diced green chili's in it to make it slightly spicy. Enjoy.....oh and u can also put it in the crock in high for about an hour. Oven probably about 35 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pinto beans(cooked and drained-set juice aside)
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 2 cups barbeque sauce
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 cup bean juice

How To Make baked beans

  • Step 1
    Blend all ingredients together in a large bowl.
  • Step 2
    Pour beans into a 9x13 baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Step 3
    Use a large spoon to spoon in the sauce. Coat the beans and add just a little extra n top but not where the beans are swimming in it. Set extra sauce aside.
  • Step 4
    Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees until onions are almost soft
  • Step 5
    Uncover and add left over sauce as desired.
