Ingredients

  • 1 package navy beans
  • - flour to coat stewing beef
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 packages stewing beef cut into 1" chunks
  • 1 package short ribs (bone in)
  • 2 cans (29 oz. each) bush country style brown beans
  • 1 can water
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 teaspoons dry mustard powder
  • 1 - small bottle of ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder or dried minced onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 bottle louisiana hot sauce

How To Make baked beans

  • Step 1
    Soak beans overnight in water, drain in the morning and rinse thoroughly.
  • Step 2
    Brown flour covered beef in frying pan using oil accordingly
  • Step 3
    Dump into crock pot
  • Step 4
    Put in the rinsed Navy beans, the 2 cans of Bush Country Style brown beans, add one can full of water and remaining ingredients, stir well. cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Step 5
    Let cool and reheat in the morning for another 4-6 hours.
