3-bean baked beans

Best barbeque beans!! Be sure to include these tasty beans on your menu for your next cookout, fish fry, or picnic. A wonderful side dish even if you are't cooking out. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound bulk pork sausage, i used hot (you can use hamburger meat if desired)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 - (15-oz) can of lima beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 - (15-oz) can pork n beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 - (15-oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 large bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce, your favorite
  • 2 tablespoons dark molasses
  • 2 teaspoons mustard, spicy brown (can use yellow mustard you prefer)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 or 5 slices thick hickory smoked bacon (or bacon you prefer)

How To Make 3-bean baked beans

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9 x 9 casserole dish or a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. I spray with PAM.
  • Step 2
    Cook sausage and onion in a pan over medium heat until meat crumbles and is no longer pink; drain and stir in remaining ingredients except for bacon.
  • Step 3
    Pour mixture into prepared baking dish and top with sliced bacon strips.
  • Step 4
    Bake uncovered on middle rack for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, until bubbly and bacon is browned.
