Stuffing was never my favorite. I decided to try my version of stuffing and it turned out wonderful! Perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Ingredients For unbelievable sausage stuffing

  • 1 pkg
    French bread (16 oz)
  • 1 lb
    ground sausage
  • 1 stalk
    celery, diced small
  • 1 md
    carrot, diced small
  • 1/4 lg
    yellow onion, diced small
  • 1 tsp
    Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1 tsp
    olive oil
  • 1/2 c
    turkey drippings
  • 14 oz
    turkey or chicken broth, plus more if needed

How To Make unbelievable sausage stuffing

    The day before cut the French bread into cubes. Put in a bag to harden for the next day.

    The next day brown the sausage. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • 3
    Mix the cooked sausage with the stale bread.
  • 4
    Cook the onions, celery, and carrots in the same pan the sausage was cooked in. Cook until slightly soft, about 5 minutes.

    Add the veggies, spices, and olive oil to the bread mixture. Toss.

    Add the drippings and toss well.

    Slowly add the broth fully coating the bread.

    Spread into a 9x13 baking dish sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.

    Bake for 50 - 60 minutes.
