got this off the internet, where i get most recipes...i added butter beans and some sausage, just because i had them on hand.

    bacon diced
  • 1 c
    country sausage
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1 can(s)
    pork and beans drained
  • 1 can(s)
    lima beans drained
  • 1 can(s)
    kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can(s)
    butter beans
  • 1 pkg
    sharp cheddar cheese cubed
  • 1 c
  • 3/4 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce

How to Make st. james baked beans


  1. heat oven 325 butter 11/2 quart casserole
  2. in small skillet saute bacon and onions till bacon is crisp and onions are lite brown,brown sausage, drain well.
  3. in a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients. add bacon-onion-sausage mixture, mix well
  4. pour mixture into casserole bake uncovered for 1 1/2 hours
