simple mac and cheese

This is an adapted recipe I got from a co-worker when I needed dishes to serve on my "cooking day" at our annual cousins week celebration. I personally had never attempted a mac&cheese dish except from the "blue box". Everyone was pleased to be my test subjects because it turned out GREAT!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces macaroni cooked according to directions
  • 6 ounces cheddar cheese soup
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 1 bag shredded cheese, divided
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper
  • 1 stick butter, melted

How To Make simple mac and cheese

  • Step 1
    Cook macroni according to package directions. Salt according to taste. Remove from burner, drain and set aside.
  • Step 2
    In microwave safe mixing bowl melt stick of butter. When butter is melted, remove and add soup, sour cream and half of shredded cheese then stir until mixed. Add mixture to cooked macroni. Stir until well mixed. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 3
    Pour macroni cheese mixture into baking dish. Top with more shredded cheese and bake until bubbly with golden top. About 45-50 minutes. Remove from oven and add more cheese over top.
  • Step 4
    Serve and enjoy!
