This recipe was given to me by an old high school friend at a reunion.
Easy alternative to home made pierogi.

Ingredients

  • 9 to 12
    lasagna noodles, cooked
  • 10 to 12
    potatoes, mashed
  • 2 stick
    butter
  • 2 large
    onions, finely diced
  • 3/4 lb
    velvetta cheese

How to Make PIEROGI PIE

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    Butter bottom and sided of a 13 X 9 pan.
  2. Saute onions in butter (brown).
  3. Add Velvetta cheese to warm mashed potatoes in small pieces. Add 1/3 of the sautéed onions to potato mixture.
  4. Layer noodles and 1/2 the potato mixture. Repeat 2nd time, add remaining onion on top.
  5. Cover and bake for 23 min.
