This recipe was given to me by an old high school friend at a reunion. Easy alternative to home made pierogi.

Ingredients For pierogi pie

  • 9 to 12
    lasagna noodles, cooked
  • 10 to 12
    potatoes, mashed
  • 2 stick
    butter
  • 2 lg
    onions, finely diced
  • 3/4 lb
    velvetta cheese

How To Make pierogi pie

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter bottom and sided of a 13 X 9 pan.

    Saute onions in butter (brown).
  • 3
    Add Velvetta cheese to warm mashed potatoes in small pieces. Add 1/3 of the sautéed onions to potato mixture.
  • 4
    Layer noodles and 1/2 the potato mixture. Repeat 2nd time, add remaining onion on top.

    Cover and bake for 23 min.
