Another casserole from the 70's when casserole were all the rage. Mom got this at a party

Ingredients

  • 2 cans drained, party peas
  • 1 can water chessnuts-sliced to bite size -undrained
  • 1 jar pimento -cut fine
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 can chow mein noodles, save some for topping
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make pea casserole

  • Step 1
    Put butter in a skillet, add onion, green pepper and celery. Cook until tender
  • Step 2
    Mix skillet mixture with peas, pimientos, water chessnuts, soup and most of the noodles.
  • Step 3
    Pour into a baking dish, top with some noodles. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes
