This has a lot of flavor. I think it would work as a base for shrimp and grits!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups grits
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 small onions, vidalia, peeled
  • 4 tablespoons butter, cold
  • 1 1/4 cups parmigiano-reggiano, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 large eggs

How To Make parmesan-vidalia grits bake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400. Boil water ; add grits, stir. Cook 25 min. Saute onion in olive oil. Add onion, butter, 1 cup parmesan, salt and pepper to grits. Cool 20 min.
  • Step 2
    Add beaten eggs. Pour into greased 2 qt. dish. Sprinkle 1/4 cup parmesan on top. Bake 40 to 50 min.
