Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    macaroni, elbow, dry
  • 2 c
    cheese, sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 2 c
    cheese, colby jack, shredded
  • 8 oz
    velvetta, cubed
  • 1 stick
    butter, divided
  • 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 1/2 pt
    heavy whipping cream
  • 2 c
    bread crumbs, panko
  • 2 Tbsp
    parsley, dried
  • ·
    salt and pepper

How to Make Panko-Crusted Easy Cheesy Macaroni Casserole

Step-by-Step

  1. HEAT oven to 350°F.

    Cook macaroni according to directions. Drain and rinse.
  2. MELT butter in medium saucepan on medium heat. Whisk in flour; cook 2 min., stirring constantly. Gradually stir in milk and heavy whipping cream. Bring to boil; cook and stir 3 to 5 min. or until thickened. Add VELVEETA; and other cheese. Cook 3-5 mins or until melted, stirring frequently. Stir in macaroni. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  3. SPOON into casserole dish. Melt 1/2 stick of butter in microwave. Stir in bread crumbs and parsley. Sprinkle bread crumb mixture over casserole. Garnish with additional parsley.
  4. Bake for 20-25 mins or until golden brown.
