Ingredients
- 1 cup crumbled cooked bacon
- 12 saltine crackers, crushed
- 6 1/2 tablespoons mesquite seasoning, divided
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cans cut green beans, drained
- 1 medium purple onion, peeled and sliced
- 3 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon barbecue seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup half and half
- 1/2 cup mesquite barbecue sauce
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded pizza cheese blend
How To Make mesquite green bean casserole

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Coat the bottom and sides of a 3-quart baking dish with cooking spray. Add 1 cup crumbled bacon and crushed saltine crackers. Season with 1 tablespoon mesquite seasoning; mix well.

Step 3Heat olive oil and margarine in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Add green beans and sliced purple onion. Saute for 6 minutes or until tender.

Step 4Stir in 2 tablespoons of mesquite seasoning, black pepper, and barbecue seasoning. Remove from heat.

Step 5Spoon into a prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

Step 6Heat the margarine and 1 1/2 tablespoon mesquite seasoning in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Step 7Combine heavy cream, half and half, barbecue sauce, cream cheese, and remaining mesquite seasoning. Stir well and bring it to a boil for 5 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.

Step 8Pour over the green bean mixture and mix well. Sprinkle with shredded pizza cheese blend.

Step 9Bake for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted.
