this is one of my grandmothers dishes she can really cook the best mac and cheese and this one is great

uncooked elbow macaroni
1/4 c
butter or margarine
1/4 c
all purpose flour
1/2 tsp
1/4 tsp
1/4 tsp
ground mustard
1/4 tsp
worcestershire sauce
2 c
2 c
shredded sharp cheddar cheese

How to Make Mac And Cheese


  • 1heat oven to 350.
  • 2cook and drain macaroni according to package directions.
  • 3meanwhile, in 3 quart saucepan, melt butter over low heat. stir in flour, salt, pepper, mustard and worcestershire sauce.
  • 4cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly, remove from heat.
  • 5stir in milk. heat to boiling, stirring constantly. boil and stir 4 minutes, remove from heat. stir in cheese until melted.
  • 6gently stir macaroni into cheese sauce. pour into ungreased 2 quart casserole.
  • 7bake uncovered 20-25 minutes or until bubbly.
