this is one of my grandmothers dishes she can really cook the best mac and cheese and this one is great

Ingredients

  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

How To Make mac and cheese

  • Step 1
    heat oven to 350.
  • Step 2
    cook and drain macaroni according to package directions.
  • Step 3
    meanwhile, in 3 quart saucepan, melt butter over low heat. stir in flour, salt, pepper, mustard and worcestershire sauce.
  • Step 4
    cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly, remove from heat.
  • Step 5
    stir in milk. heat to boiling, stirring constantly. boil and stir 4 minutes, remove from heat. stir in cheese until melted.
  • Step 6
    gently stir macaroni into cheese sauce. pour into ungreased 2 quart casserole.
  • Step 7
    bake uncovered 20-25 minutes or until bubbly.
