this is one of my grandmothers dishes she can really cook the best mac and cheese and this one is great

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1/4 c
    butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground mustard
  • 1/4 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 2 c
    shredded sharp cheddar cheese

How to Make Mac And Cheese

Step-by-Step

  1. heat oven to 350.
  2. cook and drain macaroni according to package directions.
  3. meanwhile, in 3 quart saucepan, melt butter over low heat. stir in flour, salt, pepper, mustard and worcestershire sauce.
  4. cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly, remove from heat.
  5. stir in milk. heat to boiling, stirring constantly. boil and stir 4 minutes, remove from heat. stir in cheese until melted.
  6. gently stir macaroni into cheese sauce. pour into ungreased 2 quart casserole.
  7. bake uncovered 20-25 minutes or until bubbly.
