  • 6 slices cooked applewood bacon (crumble)
  • 1/2 - vidalia onion, finely chopped
  • 1 - garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 3 cups fresh corn kernels ( 6 ears)
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil

  • Step 1
    Sauté onion and garlic in hot oil for 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in corn; cook . 5 to 7 minutes or until golden remove from heat.
  • Step 2
    Cook flour in a large clean skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes or until golden. gradually whisk in half-and-half until smooth. add corn mixture, salt, and pepper; cook 5 minutes or until thickened.
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat; stir in butter and basil. Sprinkle with bacon.
