frankfurter tater hash-crockpot

Now that I am on a HEALTHY HEART DIET, I am trying to use up some grocery supplies ..so I am not tempted! I am sure my neighbors will love it. This is another of my farm style throw together recipe. As grandma would say "Use it, make do with it or do without!" It is easy peasy, and maybe fresh green beans on the side. Have fun with it... Nancy..2/27/13

Ingredients

  • 4 cups finely diced ... boiled cooked taters
  • 1 medium onion...chopped fine
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • - black pepper...to taste ( salt if wanted)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 package frankfurters...thinly sliced....(i used turkey ones)
  • 4 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2to3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • - a dash of celery salt, parsley and paprika

How To Make frankfurter tater hash-crockpot

  • Step 1
    Wash and pre-boil potatoes. Till a fork goes gently into them Let cool, put in refrigerator overnight . Next morning and peel.
  • Step 2
    In morning.... Cut up pre-potatoes like for hash potatoes.Little squares.
  • Step 3
    Cut up onions, add to potatoes. ADD milk,flour and pepper, to potatoes
  • Step 4
    Slice frankfurters add to potatoes. Add parsley, celery salt, and a dash of paprika.
  • Step 5
    Mix all together, put in the crockpot. Cover and cook mixture on high .about 4 hours.
  • Step 6
    Top with cheese (optinal) and cover about 1 hour before done. Or put under the broiler...to slightly melt cheese.
  • Step 7
    My QUI QUI...Patiently waiting and hopeing... that I wiil drop a frankfurter ring or two!!..
