A delicious cabbage side dish that can be lightened up by using low fat or fat free milk, mayo and soup.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 package 10-oz pkg. shredded "angel hair" cabbage
  • 1 large sweet onion, halved and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 can 10.5 oz. can cream of celery soup, undiluted
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

How To Make escalloped cabbage w/cornflake topping

  • Step 1
    Stir cereal and butter together and spoon half of this mixture into a lightly greased 11 x 7 inch baking dish. Top with cabbage and onion.
  • Step 2
    Mix together the milk, mayo and soup; pour over cabbage. Sprinkle with cheese and remaining cereal mixture.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
