½ lb
sliced bacon, cut cross-wise into ¼-½
1 lb
ground beef*
*or omit the beef and double the bacon, or toss in a pork hock...whatever you'd like!
1 pkg
lipton onion soup and recipe mix
½-¾ c
chopped onion
1 16-oz. can(s)
pork and beans, not drained
1 15½-oz. can(s)
butter beans**, drained and rinsed
1 15½-oz. can(s)
cannelloni beans**, drained and rinsed
**or substitute the equivalent of any other bean(s) you like.
½ c
½ c
packed brown sugar (may substutute equal amounts of honey and molasses for half the brown sugar if you wish)
1 Tbsp
prepared mustard (of your liking...i use uncle phil's sweet and sassy)
½ tsp
lawry's seasoned salt
pepper blend, to taste (i mix ground black, white, and cayenne peppers)

How to Make Deluxe Three-Bean Bake


  • 1In Dutch oven cook bacon, hamburger and onion until meats are browned and onion is tender. Drain off any excess fat (although you will want some.)
  • 2Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • 3Cover and bake at 350°F for 1 hour, or transfer to 4-quart Crock-Pot® and cook on low heat setting for 6 hours (or longer to cook off more of the juice...your choice.) 1 hour before serving (after 5 hours of cooking), taste beans, and adjust seasoning if necessary. Continue cooking for last hour.
