Ingredients
- ½ pound sliced bacon, cut cross-wise into ¼-½
- 1 pound ground beef*
- - *or omit the beef and double the bacon, or toss in a pork hock...whatever you'd like!
- 1 package lipton onion soup and recipe mix
- ½-¾ cups chopped onion
- 1 16-oz. cans pork and beans, not drained
- 1 15½-oz. cans butter beans**, drained and rinsed
- 1 15½-oz. cans cannelloni beans**, drained and rinsed
- - **or substitute the equivalent of any other bean(s) you like.
- ½ cup ketchup
- ½ cup packed brown sugar (may substutute equal amounts of honey and molasses for half the brown sugar if you wish)
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard (of your liking...i use uncle phil's sweet and sassy)
- ½ teaspoon lawry's seasoned salt
- - pepper blend, to taste (i mix ground black, white, and cayenne peppers)
How To Make deluxe three-bean bake

Step 1In Dutch oven cook bacon, hamburger and onion until meats are browned and onion is tender. Drain off any excess fat (although you will want some.)

Step 2Stir in remaining ingredients.

Step 3Cover and bake at 350°F for 1 hour, or transfer to 4-quart Crock-Pot® and cook on low heat setting for 6 hours (or longer to cook off more of the juice...your choice.) 1 hour before serving (after 5 hours of cooking), taste beans, and adjust seasoning if necessary. Continue cooking for last hour.
