crumble topping

My recipe card says this came from "www.cooks.com" as a Sweet potato Casserole topping, but to be honest, I use this on EVERYTHING that needs a streusel or crumble topping. I only buy Old Fashioned oats & never seem to have any issues & it is the cheapest to buy by far.

Ingredients For crumble topping

3/4 coats

3 Tbspflour

3/4 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1 1/2 tspground cinnamon (can bump up to 1 Tbsp if wished

1/3 ccold lard (butter can be used too)

1 cpecan pieces

3/4 cshredded coconut {optional}

1/2 tspground ginger {optional}

1/4 tspnutmeg {optional}
How To Make crumble topping

1Put all ingredients in the food processor & whirl until crumbly. Can also use a bowl & pastry blender until crumbly.

2My family doesn't care for the coconut flakes, but I like it. The ginger & nutmeg give it a bit of Holiday cheer, but I do not always add them to this.
