    brown rice, cooked
  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 4 tsp
    sage, dried
  • 1/8 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2
    celery ribs, chopped
  • 1/2 large
    bell pepper
  • 1/2 medium
    onion, chopped
  • 2 can(s)
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 can(s)
    mushrooms (4 oz. cans)
  • 4 oz
    shredded cheese

How to Make Brown Rice Casserole

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook ground beef with salt, pepper, sage, and cayenne pepper until browned and no pink remains. Drain.
  2. Stir in rice, milk, celery, green pepper, onion, soup, and mushrooms.
  3. Transfer to a lightly oiled 13x9x2-inch pan or large casserole. Sprinkle cheese over top.
  4. Cook uncovered in 350 degree oven 45 minutes or until center is bubbly.
