baked garlic cheese grits
My very favorite comfort food! Discovered this several years ago on the back of the grits box and I knew I would love it. Nobody eats it except me, so I either pig out or have many leftovers.

Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup uncooked quick-cooking grits
- 8 ounces extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded and separated
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large eggs
- - cooking spray, butter flavor
How To Make baked garlic cheese grits

Step 1Bring water and salt to a boil in a medium saucepan. Gradually add grits, stirring constantly. Cover and simmer 8 minutes or until thick, stirring frequently.

Step 2Remove pan from heat. Add the butter and 6 oz. of the cheese, stirring until cheese melts. Combine milk, garlic and eggs, stirring with a whisk. Stir milk mixture into grits mixture. Pour into a greased or sprayed 2-qt. casserole dish.

Step 3Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven, covered, for 45-50 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle remaining cheese on top; bake an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and golden brown.
