This recipe is great with any meat dish. Wild rice is not really rice, but the grain of a native American grass that grows in swampy water. Try it, you will love it!

almonds, slivered

finely chopped green onions

(8oz.) mushroom stems and pieces, drained

chicken broth

How to Make Wild Rice With Mushrooms and Almonds


  • 1Wash and drain rice. Melt butter in large skillet.Add rice, almonds, onions and mushrooms;cook and stir until almonds are golden brown, about 20 minutes.
  • 2Heat oven to 325. Pour rice mixture into ungreased 11/2-quart casserole .Heat chicken broth to boiling;stir into rice mixture.
  • 3Cover tightly;bake about 11/2 hours or until all liquid is absorbed and rice is tender and fluffy.
