wild rice and pecans

I love this as a side for pork chops, or roasted chicken. You can substitute walnuts for pecans if you prefer. I'm just not a fan of walnuts.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 3/4 cup uncooked wild rice
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped and toasted
How To Make wild rice and pecans

Step 1Combine the chicken broth, soy sauce, and thyme in a heavy saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil. Gradually add the rice, stirring constantly.

Step 2Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 35 to 40 minutes or until the rice is tender. Set the rice aside.

Step 3Saute the onions and celery in butter in a large skillet until tender. Add the reserved rice and toasted pecans. Stir well and enjoy!
