My grandmother always used to call this Tallahassee rice... it's delicious. I've used cuscous in a pinch, it just made a ton!!!

  • 1 c
    hard rice (uncooked, not minute)
  • 1 can(s)
    beef consomme
  • 1 can(s)
  • 1
    package onions soup mix
  • 1 can(s)
    drained mushrooms
  • 1/2 stick

How to Make Tallahassee Rice (Baked Rice)


  1. Combine above ingredients in a casserole dish. Place the 1/2 stick of margarine on top (sliced up). Bake (covered)at 400 for 30 minutes. Stir. Continue baking for 20 minutes or till mixture is dry. Enjoy!
