Waaay back in the day, my first boyfriends mom made rice with her steak. I have had rice (instead of potatoes) ever since.

This is my creation that I serve with london broil, barbecued steak, you name it.

great flavor, and compliments meat well

Ingredients

  • 1/2 large
    yellow onions, chopped
  • 1 c
    long or medium grain rice, uncooked
  • 2 c
    water
  • 3 Tbsp
    cooking oil
  • 3 Tbsp
    vinegar

How to Make Steak Rice

Step-by-Step

  1. heat oil in large frying pan on medium high heat
  2. add onions, saute until slightly translucent
  3. add uncooked rice, saute with onions
  4. saute until rice is saturated with oil (rice becomes a different color)
  5. add water and vinegar to rice & onion mixture
  6. bring to a boil on high heat, stirring occasionally
  7. once boiling, reduce heat to low, and cover
  8. cook for 20 minutes
  9. fluff rice with fork and serve hot!
